Have a Marketing Science, two Journal of Marketing and in addition an R&R at Maketing Science....everybody told me how great this is but I was not even invited at my preferred place. Instead a guy received an offer with a Management Science and a QME. Why????
Places that value QME do not value Journal of Marketing.

It's tricky. At most top schools schools like Stanford, Chicago, MIT, Yale etc. JM and JM style papers just don't fly. At others schools the record might be considered great. It's a matter of taste and fit I guess.

Welcome to the real world. You now know that academia doesn't work based on meritocracy. More important are 1) whether you are a diversity candidate, 2) your chair's network and willingness to help you, 3) all other cr@p.

Marketing has it's problems, but you know what?, this are coming out because people are fed up. CT has, let's just put it that way, non-transparent data policy. In one journal the treatment is randomized, in another, maybe it's just a "natural experiment." Good joke! After I have seen first hand, I cannot treat any papers by CT seriously.
EIC of MS is a serous guy, he has an engineering spin, and does not tolerate BS. I hope that JG would be removed by EIC of MS once he learns about it. This is abnormal treatment and very unethical.Does this happen in Marketing Departments frequently? Friends accept and publish Management Sciences in three months!

CT: Why AG doesn't work on an empirical paper with you anymore? He knows that you fake data and misinterpret results.
I challenge you to get AG to work on an empirical i.e. data-driven paper with him and we will exonerate you of all the fake papers you have published!Actually, I have heard something similar here:
AG doesn't want to work with CT and he only works with her now if a third co-author is involved who can vouch for data integrity.
It's a bet, There wont be any two-author AG & CT papers....
