"I suggest you stop gossiping about things you have zero knowledge of."
This is your typical uptight guy in marketing.
Isn't that what gossiping is all about? Talking about things you have noisy information of?

Some of us uptight guys in marketing know that zero knowledge is not noisy. It's no knowledge.
But do carry on. Let's have fun together.

...but you clearly are one of those who do not know the difference between knowledge and information. Do carry on.

If your idea of gossip is drawing random "facts" from irrelevant information (which can be noisy, or not. Your choice.) then I concede. I prefer my information to be at least correlated with reality, even if noisy. But somehow that will lead to knowledge.
Which you still have zero of.
(See what I did there?)
ES at Michigan is also up this year. Surprised that they are putting people up at 4 pubs these days.
It is getting harder and taking longer to publish A papers on quant side, so are tenure standards coming down on the quant side in terms of A paper expectations? Are we converging to economics in this too?Guess you don't need a single-authored paper to go up at Michigan, whereas you definitely need it at Stanford?
I think ES is a somewhat special case. I'm not part of the ML crowd but I've heard he's as a very promising guy and I don't think Michigan would simply count pubs. I would also not be surprised if he gets poached by some department that is more in line with what he does like NYU

Speaking of NYU, what happened to DD? I saw she moved to NES, but was she denied tenure at NYU?
The more plausible story might be both places were impressed by her last year, but they failed to secure a line. This time around they don't like anyone on the rookie market so they extended her an offer. She might not even be on the market at all.
^ I don’t buy it. She startet at GSU in September this year. So she applied to jobs at the same time she started there...
Who is this person?...they're not even listed on the GSU website as yet

had to move. a harassment case and big legal troubles.
Wharton seems to be looking at non-rookies.

yes they are
I'm surprised someone finds WH grumpy
Me three. He's a pleasant guy with midwestern affect.
And neither PR nor JPD are "grumpy", as was alleged. They can blow hot and cold, and they *really* care about ideas and research, which makes them seem a bit rough at times.
Been in the field a long time, and true arrogance is rare, fortunately.
Correction: ES has 5 top pubs, and lots more in pipeline (check his CV). He also won the Little Award, was a P&Q top prof, and lots of other things (again, check his CV). Great colleague too from what I hear.
Top departments don't ONLY count As.
And I'll do it for you: "Hi, ES!"
