If TK did not make mid-review, did DE?TK did not make it. Informal reason teaching.
DE made it, he is really strong.
Come on... DE is good at politics but TK is not
I'm not in marketing and don't know TK, but how does someone with 1 Management Science and 1 Marketing Science fail a mid-review? I didn't even include the econ publications because I wanted to limit it strictly to marketing.
If you are not in marketing, why don’t you shut up

DE is the least political man in this business. Trying to kiss no one’s a**, and you can see it from him constantly spotting and publicly shaming people who do BS research.
They are both very pleasant individuals, well-trained, etc. DE has amazing industry connections, does relevant research, and is awesomely smart. TK is producing A papers, but MIT is typically looking for more than numbers, unlike most schools.

Both it is just mid review... Impact takes time

DE, Dean Eckles? Looks like he does't have marketing papers.

The name of MIT Sloan's Dean is David Schmittlein, not Eckles. Stop spreading misinformation.

Maybe the evaluation considers more information than what is on the CV?
+1. His paper was the typical "john hauser school of thought" paper on product design...hardly a sexy topic these days...but had decent ML in it. JH is a very senior figure in marketing and well respected...so might have placed him well...though Yale is the only top 20 schools he interviewed.
Speaking of MIT, is it true AB got a Yale offer? His JMP was impressive, but very machine learning.AB's paper is far from impressive. Not sure about the offer but Yale was the only "top" school that invited him.
