I think it will be me. Expecting to have 3As and some A-
Good luck. But numbers are not all that meaningful anymore.
Other factors matter, but ability to publish at top journals is still the most important factor for most schools, and numbers of A pubs is a signal of that.

A = JM, JMR, JCR, MS
A- = JCP, JAMSJM is one tier below JCR, JMR, MS.
And that is because .......God appeared in your dreams and told you. Keep your ill-informed opinions to yourself. it is possible that some elite schools might out of their own snobbery not consider JM and A, but they don't make the field. Most top-tier public research institutions consider JM an A.
I am sure you are also those that argue that QME is an A, but JM is not.

I am sure you are also those that argue that QME is an A, but JM is not. That is because the bar is higher in JCR/JMR/MS than JM. Yes, it is true that some schools consider JM an A, but some don't...while all schools consider JCR/JMR/MS to be A. So, all else equal, a publication in JCR/JMR/MS is more valuable for those on the market than a publication in JM.

The paper is wrong? Which part?
A good example: https://pubsonline.informs.org/doi/abs/10.1287/mksc.2019.1208
Make sure you read your paper twice before you submit. Looks like they forgot to do so.
Pretty sure the authors would be happy to fix mistakes if you emailed them.

The paper is not wrong. Chill.

JM has been better then JMR since 2018 or earlier. Compare them.

All else is not equal, because not all papers are portable across journals. A paper that has the potential in JCR may not have the same potential in JM and vice-versa. I am not sure what logic you are using the make this comparison. If anything given its high IF, JM outranks all the other journals. You are basically choosing a metric that is quite blatant - whether the journal is acceptable at "all elite" schools or not. I say, that cannot be the only metric. People choose to publish in a specific journal because of the type of work. As I said earlier, don't tout opinions as if they are immutable laws scaring poor doctoral students on the forum.

Ah, I see the old "JM >> QME" troll from the 2022 thread has migrated over here. Terrific.

It’s not a troll is it’s fundamentally true

Prediction: the 2023 market will be very good for candidates due to the backlog of positions plus recent senior/seasoned moves.
Prediction: Market for rookies will continue to be poor, schools will continue to fill positions with advanced AP and senior hires, top school quants candidates will continue to head to industry rather than heading to lower tier schools.
