We dont need popstars, we dont need guys who appear on TV all the time or make headlines, we dont need more trivial, unacademic books amd we dont need people who value consulting $ over research impact!There are enough very relevant topics that need the attention of serious researchers, we cant waste ressources on pop stars anymore, who are all about being sexy all the time.

Yeah right. Blame your problems on Heckman. She was never up for tenure at the econ department so Heckman couldn't block her and Heckman has no power to fire people. Leave the poor man alone.I find the vast majority of the posts on this thread to be reprehensible, as well as the general EO bashing on this board. The fact is that all of us with any reasonably high level of ambition will experience significant failure in our lives. None of us would want that failure to be broadcast to the world and then compounded with misogynistic, ad hominem smears on an anonymous Internet board. If you would be ashamed to say something to EO in person, then that's a pretty good signal that you should be ashamed to write it anonymously.
