I don’t think Mpls Fed pays as much as USC or comparable departments. He can probably make 250k as an Associate Professor, unreachable for a senior economist at a Fed.
Man he must really want to stay on the West Coast, huh? USC instead of Minneapolis Fed is a huge financial blow in real wage (due both to nominal wage and cost of living).
Monetary advisor perhaps up to 300k.
But of course you don’t have tenure, need to deal with policy stuff and endure Minnesota weather.
