    Wanted to fly him out... that's weird. Because as a top 10 you don't want to damage your department's name and hiring somebody convicted for a sexual felony with a minor doesn't help.

    What he did was terrible. I do not dispute that. Perhaps he should never be allowed around men or women under the age of 21. That would rule out university jobs. However, I see no reason why an institution like the Federal Reserve Board should turn their head the other way if he is so strong in macro. Or, a non-U.S. university. Is there a stigma about these sorts of issues in say the Netherlands or Germany?
