Penn Placement

Once upon a time there was not a stigma about this in the U.S. either (aside from the homosexual part). And by once upon a time, try no more than a century ago. So not that long ago in the course of academia.
Is there a stigma about these sorts of issues in say the Netherlands or Germany?
Uhhhh yeah. What world do you live in? -
Who cares? KM was the smartest and most attractive candidate out of Penn in a decade. Our society's puritanical hangups about sex have deprived our discipline of a scholar.
The guy can certainly still be an economist at a Fed, especially since he's a macro guy. It's much harder to make the case that he should be hired at a university, where the hire would expose a lot of third parties (students, administration) to some kind of risk.

How about the placement of the other macro people from Penn?
market not cleared for Penn yet. Here are the ones I know of.
Karam Kang accepted the CMU offer, Andrew Clausen has offers from Edinburgh and Bonn, Grey Gordon has Cleveland FED, Stan Rabinovich has Amherst College (I think there is more to come), Fatih Karahan has a couple (Richmond FED, Board, and Vanderbilt), I don't know about Aaron Hedlund, Cezar Santos, or Chong Huang.

Don't forget about Michela Tincani! Her JMP is great! I like how she disentangles supply and demand of both teachers and students, so she can see the full GE picture of education. She seems to be quite a bit ahead of her advisors! I'm sure she will get something nice after her zillion fly-outs...
What's wrong with Greg? I think he's quite nice.
