AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) published the average national year-over-year price increase of basic food items in the US supermarkets:
Egg - 59.9%
Butter - 31.4%
Lettuce - 24.9%
Canned Fruit - 18.4%
Milk - 12.5%
I remember the 90s. Egg, butter, lettuce, canned fruit, and milk had almost no price in the local big-box supermarkets. You can often find them on sale for 10c or less per pack. US was a paradise then. This is now. I wonder how long we will survive.
