This. I can confidently give a solid HYPSMC/Oxbridge undergrad a couple of textbooks e.g. S&B + something on stats, + an EdX course, and in one summer they'll be sharper and more valuable than 99% of non-HRM STEM majors
tbh they'd rather take an Oxford History grad who did some linear algebra and multivar in their "Further Maths" A-level.
It's more about pedigree and IQ than "relevant skills" - all those can be taught on the job quickly.
