Does anyone have experience with interviewing/getting a top quant job in The City with a PhD in Finance (thesis focus: macroeconomic theory with fairly good level of computational stuff involved)? I would like to know how to sell our PhD degree in what people call as 'soft science' to fetch jobs which also attracts STEM grads. As far as I have inquired, not many quant firms hire at AFA so I would have to try my luck through networking/recruitment agencies.
I am talking about jobs like these:

http://hunterbond.com/jobs/1390/Python-Developer----Quant-Development---?150,000
I got a CompSci BS from developing country before enrolling for PhD (relatively unknown school). Good at programming (OOP, HPC etc).
