   Do you have to move there to work there or can you do it remotely with just going to deliver lectures?

   It’s the Côte d’Azur. The move is the best part at Skema. More sunshine than LA. Unlike SoCal, you can get a sea view.

   I agree that is a great location. My reasons for not wanting to move are family related.
   I am underpaid for my publication success but stuck with that due to location constraints.
   I love Nice! I did not mean to suggest that it is a bad location.

   You can't be too CAREFUL with SKEMA. On top of its new endless tenure-review system (your employment is never safe), SKEMA lures you with Nice but then they expect that you relocate to Paris or any other cloudy location. What puts me down the most is the unashamed degree of fraud going on in the school. BE CAREFUL indeed.

    The bean counting mentality has killed French business schools. They are schools where you waste your career gaming journals, publishing s_h_i_t that nobody will remember.

    Not without a catch. You have to kiss the a** of incompetent professors by administrations and accept that your job is a meaningless and repetitive bean-counting task. The moment you question Edhec and Skema, you're out.

    Review determines your teaching load which is the case at many places. You can not be research deadwood in the US neither without increased teaching load

    Careful with SKEMA. They stopped offering permanent positions and you have to stand a tenure-review process every 5 years till the end of your career. They're lying to applicants, not disclosing details about this new process. It works in practice like a fixed-term job system with the possibility of employment continuation only if you pass the review. The mechanism is thought to keep you producing papers at all costs. That's why SKEMA mostly hires cheaters who are there to cash in the bonuses for publications. SKEMA is not for serious academics.

    In France, CDI is no tenure. Even janitors can be CDI in France, which simply means that your contract won't be reviewed every year but it's open ended... until you fail you tenure review at Skema. Awful place to work, it's like the MacDonald's of business schools.

    CDI is CDI. Depending on your profile you need to continuously produce a certain number of papers. If you fail, you teach more. And that is the standard in academia. French BS have a lot of B.Sheat , but this is standard everywhere
