Get a nexus and stop worrying about cyanogenmod
^ Try cyanogenmod. It could destroy your phone, but for me it worked nicely. I got rid of all the un-installable Samsung and provider apps (incl. stupid hotel search app) and things like camera work 100%.
While this time i just got lucky, for my next phone I'll check in advance whether cyanogenmod works well with it. It gives you updated android versions long after your manufacturer stopped support.
Am I the only one thinks a phone is too important to constantly tinker with by constantly flashing and trying different roms?
It's one thing to mess around with Linux distros on a spare PC, but not having your smartphone working at a moment's notice turns me off the whole Android modding scene.
Modding was important when phones sucked. But now I think anyone can buy the phone they want - there is enough variety in Android - without having to worry about that. Only the enthusiast will mod.
