If 469d is so sure about misconduct, he can compare his JMP here https://www.cemfi.es/ftp/pdf/papers/Seminar/JMP%20Bretscher.pdf with the current or eventually published version. It doesn't not seem like rocket science to me

He was raised in the US, BC is nowadays heads and shoulders above LBS in terms of research quality and productivity, LBS has horrible teaching deals. why wouldn’t he move once given the chance?
BC is a much better environment. LBS is super toxic and there’s no support for juniors.
