Two private French business schools, go figure!
Alain Fayolle (a Professor at EMLyon) appropriated a dataset built by a former PhD student, today an academic at HEC Montréal. Fayolle never got the approval of this colleague and made such dataset available to Kathleen Randerson (today an academic at Audencia) for her to write her dissertation with Fayolle as advisor.
The victim, Naïma Cherchem from HEC Montréal, filed a lawsuit against Fayolle and Randerson for unlawful use of intellectual property and plagiarism.
Alain Fayolle and Kathleen Randerson have not been disciplined by their institutions, EMLyon and Audencia respectively, and they won't. These schools only care about CNRS stars, no matter the means to obtain them.
We're all waiting for the outcome of the legal process.
