How are the seventh years doing? As usual, Chicago has quite a few. Any others?
Seventh years

People will notice the year of entry/graduation, unfortunately. 3/4 are amazing but rare. 5 normal, 6 doesn't hurt, and 7 not very good.
A lot of CVs don't have year of entry. And there's at least one student this year whose year of graduation leads to a mistaken conclusion about her year of entry.

van Dijk from Chicago appears to be a 7th year.
You can see this from her teaching page. She was a TA in fall of 2013, meaning that she must have started in 2012.She *is* a seventh year, but she appears to be a sixth year since she claimed an extra BS in 2013.

Why. Is. She. Getting. Flyouts.

When the market stops penalizing seventh year we'll fairly quickly move into a new seven year(!!!) equilibrium. I saw this when we went to five years, and then to six.

But in this case, do departments even know about it?
