Yeah, no tenure in China!
Getting rid of tenure would be great for all of the Chinese PhD's in Finance. We would finally get the jobs we deserve.
Every few days another OP that failed academia posts the same wishfult thinking topic…
Typical CCP, communist, or whatever mind. Congrats for having been born a Zhang!

Actually, it is what will happen next. Do you really think this sounds like a threat?
Yes. Abolishment of tenure and switching to fixed term contracts is the way forward.Just abolish universities in that case. You won't have anyone decent teaching in any case.
Public Universities could well disappear yes, privates probably not, as they are largely self-sustaining. I think tenure abolition which has ocurred in a number of countries is a slippery slope in this direction. Ironically, it's in countries dominated by public Universities that they have abolished tenure, so these countries are rapidly heading towards dismantling their higher eduction systems. What's left hardly deserves the name Universities anymore.
I feel your pain and frustration as either an academic job market failure or a phd dropout who were forced out to industry and keep sneaking into this forum because you can't get away from your insecurity..
I feel ur pain as a defunct and awkward academic or phD student who will get what you deserve for ur false sense of security.
If tenure is ab0lished then prospective junior professors will demand significantly higher wages to compensate for the additional employment risk when they are older. If universities refuse to raise their salaries accordingly then the best prospective professors will go to industry and universities will be left with the bottom of the barrel graduates with no alternatives. Tenure ab0lition would be good for universities in the short term but very detrimental in the long run.

Now I feel your anger as well lol. Sorry about your terrible life..
No man is an island,
Entire of itself.
Each is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thine own
Or of thine friend's were.
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.

Not going to happen, effectively their real wages will fall.
