-Excepting personal attacks, racism, etc., mods neither delete nor close threads. Instead they move them to a Trash forum that is viewable but where the default is that it is not checked. Like an email spam folder. The mods move low quality threads there.
-Kirk appoints a lead mod whose only role is to overturn/sustain controversial deletions.

Yes please. Do that. I mean a lot of threads still deserve to be deleted because they are just bad but there a lot of trolling threads that are not in any way entertaining. As I've said, I like the off-topic forum because sometimes I need to decompress but when you get 10 different "what is more prestigious..." threads on the front page its a waste of everyone's time. So a bad/uncrative trolling forum that I can unselect would be nice. The politics forum already does a remarkable job in taking away all the reptard/libtard crap and the constant "reptardmod mod deleted my thread"
I vote for a separate sub forum. Mostly so we have someplace centralized to go when there is a spam attack. I also imagine unregistered users would find it confusing that they could not post in threads scattered over the site.
And while you are here, can you look into the LAC thread vandalism?

For the first suggestion OP the question would be whether to make reg only sub forum or to allow optional reg only topics across all the sub forums.
Although hilarious, won't this feed into his ego even more? WG is already trying to take credit for some of the best trolls as it is.
We should call it the Wasn't Germaine subforum, or WG for short.
I imagine some users would leave it checked so thy can have robust discussions with their sock puppets.
It would be mean because we are dealing with a person who clearly has a real mental illness.
But to be practical, ridicule is a very effective way of making someone go away. Arguing with him, or otherwise engaging him, will not work. Accommodating him has not worked. So lets treat him as a clown until he understands that nothing will change no matter how many times he spams the board. So I think Kirk should name it the WG folder.
This is why I think it is important that Kirk fix the massive downvoting from last night. Sure, everyone knows the real story. But we need to have made him waste his time.
