Exactly. SKAB attempted to misdirect the thread.
Who cares about NS, this is about SK and AB

The only reason the TAR thread is so long is that SKAB constantly try to misdirect and take it off topic. It's funny how when they're cornered and can't misdirect, they can only come up with the lamest excuse in the elementary schoolbook: the dog ate my laptop, that's why I can't show you the data and code, but I didn't cheat, here's a note from my dad proving it!
You do understand that by posting all this information, you pretty much outed yourself right? Who would even know or care about this?! I feel bad for Nemit that he has a jealous Indian bro following him around.
I have no beef against Nemit. However, when people of his talent forget their intellectual level and start showing off, then it pisses me off. Here is the true story that why he got accepted at Michigan.
Srinivasan Rangan (a student of Sloan) decides to move to India and teaches a couple of classes a the third grade bschool when Nemit did MBA. He literally begs him to write him a letter. For some reason, Rangan writes a letter. At that time, Sloan was at Michigan (around 2003). Sloan can't ignore recommendation letter from his own student and hence decides to admit Nemit.
This also shows the state of accounting research, where merit has no role to play and it's a game of you-scratch my back and I scratch yours.

No one cares. Get out of this thread you autist.
^ Lol. Accountants furious. Accounting research is a charity for people with zero intelligence. An accountant exposed Andrew Bird and Stephen Karolyi as fraudsters. The Accounting Review retracted their paper. Intelligent finance researchers did neither.
It is clear that the accounting profession has a problem. I would like to see finance journals stop publishing papers from accounting faculty. Nobody can be sure at this point who is and who is not telling the truth in accounting.
He is tenured at MIT with a record that many people can only dream of. Jealousy doesn’t do you no good.
Look at Nemit Shroff’s profile. is lucky to be earning 250k+ salary. People of his background literally beg on the streets of India, as they can’t find a job. He should be thanking his stars, and instead of lecturing people should keep his head down, remember his background and work on his papers. If you see Nemit present or ask a question during a seminar you can agree that he is way overvalued. Was lucky to be at the right place, right time. Good for him
Agree

Lol leave the beef with NS out, who cares. If he thinks there's no problem with SK and AB, then's an obvious stooge and his reputation will suffer. Again, who cares.
And lol, I'm not even that upset the paper wasn't retracted. This statement speaks for itself and it is as good as a retraction. All of this is very entertaining. I hope that CMU tenures them so I can watch the accounting world implode.
"the actual specification the authors acknowledged to have used in the paper was econometrically inconsistent."
Da fuq does that even mean? "econometrically inconsistent"Probably you should retake econometrics.

You are welcome.
Thanks. I know what an inconsistent estimator is. But the statement is about an "econometrically inconsistent specification". Maybe you could enlighten me about the meaning of that as well?
Look at his profile before Michigan. Now ask how did a person from such a pathetic background could even do a PhD from Michigan (though it is accounting PhD)? I can answer this question for you that he could even go to Michigan. But I would like you to ponder over this.
People with PhDs from Michigan beg on the streets of India? Had no idea.

You must be one of those losers who ask people their rank in IIT JEE in the first 5 minutes of meeting them. Newsflash : A lot of people bloom late in life. There are many graduates of HRM Accounting programs who did their undergrad at unknown schools.
Heck, in Econ John List graduated from a no name school. James Heckman went to Colorado College for undergrad. Are you going to put them down too for their background before they made it big? NS has proved himself to be a prolific researcher.
Nemit Shroff's profile:
- Sydenham College (Bachelor of Commerce) - a non-name college
- Amrita School of Business - a no name business school
Why did Michigan hire someone from such a third-grade profile? Yes, I concur it is Accounting PhD and hence the standards are not too high. But there must be some benchmark.
While Amrita is ULRM, Sydenham is actually equivalent to a top LAC. It is one of the best colleges in Bombay
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sydenham_College_of_Commerce_and_Economics
Some prominent alumni of Sydenham:
Jagdish Bhagwati
CEO of Qatar Airways
Chairman of HDFC Bank - India's largest private sector bank
CEO of Wipro, India's largest IT company
CEO of Walmart India
KM Birla - One of the richest Indians
CEO of Citigroup India
Rakesh Jhunjhunwala - considered the Indian Warren Buffett
Chairman of Kotak Mahindra Bank, another premier private sector bank
Meera Sanyal - India head of ABN AMRO and RBS
Chances are your IIT IIM ass would be sniffing the pubes of these people to get a job at the organizations they work in.
Satya Nadella's alma mater, Manipal Institute of Tech is also mocked as a place for rich kids or for IIT rejects, yet he heads Microsoft today. Are you going to say he doesn't deserve to lead microsoft because he didn't clear a stupid post high school entrance exam? Grow the f**k up. idiots like you should stick to being autistic programmers.
Calm down Nemit. Don’t show your craziness over here. While it’s true that a lot of people bloom late, we can’t say that for you. Man you are in f**king accounting. And don’t even bother comparing yourselves to IITians. Most of those programmers earn more than you, if that’s what you are proud of. And they definitely work on stuff which requires more intelligence than what your work requires.

It means that the replication kit is phony, and the only reason this isn't a retraction is that Stephen Karolyi is Andrew Karolyi's kid.
