Michayluk is a two-faced bandit who thinks nothing of poaching other peoples' papers. Is AP (the VC) the same guy who left a previous university in a hurry after he had refused even to investigate a report of sexual harassment by one of the deans there? Or is that a different guy? It was one of the SA universities, iirc.

I have heard so many bad things about DM. His lying, cheating, stealing others publications, threats and bullying. And most of it from women and Asians.

The sad truth is Australian academic governance is in the dark ages compared to equivalent places in the US. Good people keep as far away from admin as possible and just work on their research. Lots of hiring of own PhDs with faculty competing to place their own postdocs. Mean quality of faculty is mediocre as a result.

--- No that's untrue. Both places are okUNSW is an excellent uni. Melbourne is okay but a bit up-and-down in places according to the whim of deans and others. If the deans and senior management leave faculty alone it would be better.
