The word "nested"
-
Contained within or subset of. Eg. the set {1, 2} is a nested subset of {0, 1, 2, 3}. A nested model has the same dependent variable and some of the same independent variables (but no other independent variables) as the full model. Eg. y = b_0 + b_1*height is a nested model of y = b_0 + b_1*height + b_2*weight. As another example, y = b_0 + b_1*IQ is a nested model of y = b_0 + b_1*IQ + b_2*dips**t, where dips**t = 1 if asking what nested means on EJMR and 0 otherwise. In the latter model, one may encounter a problem in which there will be no observations where IQ>70 and dips**t=0.

Dude, don't f**k with him. He's asking a serious question.
