Woke vs. anti-woke. Who knew mathematicians were so political?
Well, considering that one side seems contains people like "Dr Abolish the police" and other with "antifa" on their twitter names, its pretty clear which side any sane and not imb/3cile person should be on
Right. But why are they melting down about this, in particular?

Because they need to. Because they are sad little people with nothing going on in their life.

They are objecting to the fact that they have not been included as founding members of basically a blank website.
I feel like thread is a perfect metaphor for social media in 2021.
I can tell OP is outraged by a tweet.
The author of the tweet is a person who is well-known constantly professionally outraged on Twitter.
The tweet is calling for a list of names on a website to be cancelled.
The website itself has no content, other than lists of names of mathematicians.
No one is explaining anything, but apparently I’m supposed to pick a side and be outraged.

It is remarkable that the wookies make completely outrageous claims and yet are unable to provide any cogent argument for even a weak 1% version of the claim that they are making. Anyway this is not going to go well for them. Who wants to interact with people who are unable to de facto reason?
It’s all about the algorithms for predictive policing. It’s related to this discussion from last year but I don’t know how the Association for Mathematical Research is different from the AMS group mentioned here. https://blogs.ams.org/mathgradblog/2020/06/27/lets-take-responsibility-for-our-math/
