Just to add some context. Many mathematicians feel that American Mathematical Society is currently being overtaken by the woke crowd. Hence, they decided to create an alternative society, which is AMR.
Thanks for the clarification. What a sorry state of affairs that math has to be plagued by these uninvited and unwelcome problems nobody asked for, from "non-rac1st math" to being chased out of AMS which was once a place that had nothing to do with all this race, gender nonsense. Does this vary by type of math? So for example is something like graph theory viewed as non-woke and number theory viewed as woke or something like that? Just curious.

It must be that many of those folks don't know the deal with this org.
Basically Abigail Thompson (who wrote this letter https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-universitys-new-loyalty-oath-11576799749) and a bunch of people that agree with her (https://www.ams.org/journals/notices/202001/rnoti-o1.pdf) started it. They're not being honest about their reasons for starting it, but it appears to be a first step toward some kind of institutionalized move against diversity statements.

[...] they started it, without giving any real reason, very soon after the Thompson letter controversy, and because the first people to be involved were all, and are, outspoken in their support of Thompson's message.
The whole thing is deeply deceitful.
Many of the people on the board, like, the majority, are people who are super vocal in their stance against diversity statements, and some are actually well known to just be outright sexist/racist.
It just feels icky. I'm okay with people withholding judgement until they start making openly icky statements, but I feel like folks should know there appears to be something sort of fishy about it.

They should just not have accepted her nomination. She has ZERO contributions to combinatorics as a field and now they have kowtowed down to her demands that she be recognized in part for her contributions to combinatorics. It was bad enough in the first place that they tried to give her a token appreciation for effort in diversity efforts.
