What are they?
I think Yale is the highest with $34000ish
Even LSE and LBS with £25 are more than that.
Lol. This almost what a UK "AP" makes.
Doesn't disturb at all.
I can still go skying and buy new gear every year, travel abroad 4-6x a year, eat out once a week and buy random stuff. And this despite having to rent two places and have a train ticket that covers the entire country
Switzerland is very expensive. Even if the stipend seems high, the cost of living will eat up a lot of it. You definitely can afford more in Midwest with a much smaller stipend.
I don't think this is true. New AP make about 120k. So 80k for a PhD student seems way to high. We pay about 3500 a month (13 months contract) for TAs.
In Switzerland the pay for a 100% PhD position is around 80k CHF. Most people get 50%-60% initially depending on school and department (so about 40-50k). You may get more % by RAing or because your advisor likes you.
