Sorry, that was the answer to the question whether reserve lists are useful, they are. Applications are not assessed on a rolling basis.
Traineeship at the ECB

^They typically are. (Insider here.) If your profile is overall competitive you have a good chance of being hired from the reserve list. The main advantage of the reserve list is that I can hire those on it without going through a lengthy process. I would typically look at the CV and reach out to some of my colleagues who have talked to the candidate during the process for some general feedback and if all sounds good I will set up an interview.
Sorry, are you referring to the question about the rolling basis assessement or the one mentioning the reserve list/being rejected? But thanks a lot for the insights!

Oh sorry just seen this! That's very interesting. Would you say that might be related to the fact that the following applications have all been rejected? As in, being that the candidate was already in a reserve list, they did not wholly assess them as they did for the first one that was made.

Insider here. There is a massive difference across groups. If your intention is to do a PhD and be exposed to research, and get good letters, the research group i the best place at the ECB. SSM would be the opposite. Economics and financial stability somewhere in the middle.
I guess monetary policy would be good too? And what about statistics
Monetary policy is research focused, statistics is not. (It bears responsibility for the production, quality and dissemination of statistics produced by the ECB).

And is that prolonged remote working due to corona? I note that Bloomberg reported that the ECB has implemented remote working until the end of the year, so it would seem so. Just FYI, I’m trying to get an indication if remote working applies to most staff, esp. DG-L new starts...

Hi, does anyone remember what types of questions are usually asked in a video interview? Any advice would be appreciated :)!
