Now I realize they singlehandedly destroyed it by making everything about emotion/fairness and not about seeking truth
You can seek truth about fairness, I think you are conflating emotion and fairness. Plenty of good work on fairness. I'd struggle to name any women in that area of research though, I can think of maybe one.

good work on fairness? I doubt it. And the "conflation" of emotion and fairness is completely accurate. There is little but appeal to emotion "arguments" for the rage for diversity, inclusion, equity. And people's hurt feelings are reason enough to censor people. Check out Yale law school black student association members who were traumatized by an email about a party sent out by another student.
