LJL. You can be dumb as a rock and not know a thing about sigma algebras, and then tell people which meds they should take and be taken seriously.
Two guys in my cohort failed comps and subsequently became medical doctors

Prob with the US system is that it's expensive to get an education and it's not tough to graduate. So you end up with people who are unqualified to be MDs and, because they're burried in student debt, will try to crush patients with high costs and unnecessary work.
-
You seem to be forgetting opportunity cost and the fact that many MDs graduate in their early 30s. They have a lot of student debt, a lot of "lost wages", etc. They expect to make a lot of money, fast.
MDs crushed by student debt = doctors are financially illiterate, and cannot service a 200k debt on a 300k salary
-
Do you mean MDs need "personality" with "personality" being synonymous with not being an asian ner//d? I've never heard that one before.
Doing medicine requires different temperament, insight and attitude that someone with the capacity of understanding sigma algebras need not possess. The fact that op lacks this basic understanding shows that his/her sigma algebra skills are also a waste.
