administration has rejected or made difficult some tenure cases that were pretty darn good for a school of miami's caliber, think they are moving up and can enforce unreasonable standards.

It sounds like he chose to move into a tenured position at a better department. Other than weather what does Miami have to offer that Queens can't, especially since their hiring freeze is over. Better weather and the beach.
