After 5 years, only 16 left:
Juniors: MCB, BYH, AXH, SK, PS
Associate: ML (complete deadwood), RM (half deadwood), LY (half deadwood)
Full: MF (half deadwood), SH (mascot), APK (mascot), VM (disaster), LS (who built the department up but is not active anymore), GT (okay), HU (couldn't publish in tops anymore), RW (disaster)
I'm quite curious whether MCB (with 3A, 1JFQA, 1MS, 1RoF) would be granted tenure. Given their current environment, it's quite stupid to require 5As like before. Could 1JFQA+1MS+1RoF=1A?
MS counts as an A

An update is here. Next year they gonna look like this (after GT's move). Around 14 people left:
Junior: BYH, AXH, SK, PS
Associates: MCB, ML, RM, LY
Full: SH, PK, VM, LS, HU, RW
On the junior side, all are good enough for a top75 department, probably except AXH.
The senior side is terrible. ML, SH, LS, HU don't write papers anymore. VM and RW are disasters. PK, as the only outstanding person there, would retire soon. RM, MCB, and LY are of okay quality but not that active.
Conclusion: Maryland couldn't well rebuild itself in the short run. By 10 years later, all of the full profs would retire. Let's see what will happen by then.
They hired a few people this year. Still, this is way from enough.

Not only UMD finance but all the public schools will be hit horribly. States will need too early as many resources as they can to health and social security local programs. They cannot increases taxes much. They will cut budgets of state college systems as much as they possibly can. It will be painful and very bad for all public schools
Who did they get this year?

Don’t think MCB is an associate
