You don't understand the state of debate in these circles. Most of these people never have their ideas challenged. It is acceptable to hand-wave away any facts as being the result of oppression and systemic racism, in much the same way one might say "the lord works in mysterious ways." When they are challenged by someone who hasn't fully drunk the Kool-Aid, they spin their wheels and trip over themselves. If you want an example of this, read Isaac Chotiner's interview of the "defense of looting" lady in the New Yorker. She cannot form a coherent theory of looting and contradicts herself multiple times. It perfectly encapsulates how w0keness destroys any semblance of critical thought.

So they didn't counter with some of the arguments laid out in this thread? That the subfield is not actually a racial proxy, and that even if it is, it's just reparations, you should read a book, etc?
I made arguments that any 8 year old with basic moral sense would make. A subfield is being used as a racial proxy, and this is de facto racial discrimination, etc. The most important thing that the silent majority needs to understand is that these activists in their departments have grown so complacent intellectually that they don't know how to argue back when someone makes appeal to blindingly obvious principles, the way adults are often stumped by kids' innocent questions. They're counting on your silent acquiescence.
