No one here (I assume) is talking about the r/i/ght-wing conspiracy theory of "cultural marxism." In EJMR, it's just a phrase to denote the undeniable drift of academia, left-leaning news, and left-leaning social media towards a once-arcane niche of critical theory, combined with virt/ue/ signaling, logically inconsistent arguments, and heavy handed silencing of opposing viewpoints, all of which somewhat resemble Marxism.
I don't think most of us know of the conspiracy theory that originated this name because most of us don't read Br/e/itbart.

I would tend to agree with you, but clearly using CM is better (cultural marxism), for the simple reason that it clearly hits a nerve. Americans know well how Marxism is a failure. Pointing out that Marxism is coming back in a disguised form is powerful.
