Yes, + bristol and essex
bristol, nottingham? Lol. No. - Edinburgh is an excellent department especially compared to those.lmaoooo
Edinburgh???
XD are you even an economist?
pls gtfo before further humiliating yourself and ed
nottingham is very large, and no one actually lives there - and there is a lot of deadwood. Bristol has been hiring, but 1) has no one of consequence there in senior positions 2) the city is kinda rubbish. Edinburgh has a serious contender for a nobel prize and has the best seminar culture and research culture from any uni outside london.

do u even do ur research properly? no wonder you applied to a small number of schools and ended unemployed at the JM. How's your data analyst job now?
The best thing about Edinburgh is the city. The second best thing is the rest of the university, which means ug quality is high. As for econ itself, definitely above the median for Scotland. Maybe top #1 in East Lothian.
just how salt lake university is the top for econ in midwest, totally recommended!
Edinburgh is one of the good-but-not-top place in the uk, fluctuating between being very good and so-so depending on the field and circumstances. It is in a great university, and in a good city.
There are many such universities in the UK. The only way to know if it is a good time to be there is to look at recent turnover, publications, and ideally pay a visit to see who actually live there.
Glasgow, Edinburgh, Bristol, Manchester, Liverpool, Lancaster, Exeter, Sussex, ... All these schools can be ranked differently depending on the year and on your field.

Oh please. Have you seen a global ranking? Edinburgh overall places between top 20 (11 in humanities) to top 50 depending on the field. On par with LSE, UCL and Imperial.
yes Edinburgh is a great university, no doubt. I was talking about the department of economics.
All of the other schools I list have pros and cons. My point is just that there are many decent UK econ department between the very top 5-10 and the ones where hateukbro works, and that ranking them is a bit of a waste of time.
