Is she really worth it? She's like 5/10.

She is now a postdoc in Regensburg... Maybe somebody in Innsbruck did not like the way this went.
Just part of their long term plan to finally get her a tenured position at Innsbruck. And with the same old lame guys in charge over there it will work out. Mind my words

Sounds plausible. :) Great impression of our discipline. I hope that young people don't read this thread, being spoiled...

See the hint above: the name sounds pretty Greek. Btw this is the paper I was referring to
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0167487017306001as an editor of a fairly mediocre journal such posts relax me and tree hugging is fun but this publication actually is the dubious one

Apparently, he himself made it official in a faculty meeting. He has a deal with the rector that allows him to give her a tenure-track position in Innsbruck.
So he starts an affair with a PhD student, continues to date and supervise her, is on her dissertation committee, gives her a PostDoc position, gives her an award from a research foundation he chairs, lets her publish her only single-authored paper in a special issue he is editing and now arranges a rigged appointment procedure to give her a professorship.
JUST WOW.

JUST WOW.If true, that's a real scandal. Why would people in Innsbruck allow all this to happen? That's poison for a department.

If true, OP should get in touch with a local newspaper
