Come on, PB has been a deadwood since he moved to Australia. Do you think any department with self respect would tenure someone whose most recent acceptance is more than five years ago?The Department / School still respect. They even will give some administration works to compensate.

They are still favorites for international students, once the Government lifts the travel ban. Because it is easier to get Australian Green Card than US. Also, bus driver salaries in Australia are almost the same with fresh PhD. This is not the case in the US. Many international students study in Australia to obtain PR and then work.

He convinced the dean that publishing in top 3 is useless and that doing multidisciplinary research is more important. The dean can sell that to the chancellor and so we (all non-BMM people) are all screwed. Many left, more will leave, nobody will join.
