At UNSW, working in finance, you can join either their Banking and Finance Department or Risk and Actuarial Studies. I hold Finance PhD from European and joined Risk and Actuarial Studies.
The base salaries shall be the same, right? For instance Level C or Level D. The difference is the loading. I could get 30-70 % loading conditional on securing ARC grants and A/A* ABDC/ERA journal rank publications.

he left UNSW though.. but now got 4 top 3s and 2 JFQA and 1 MS .. better than most aus profs

Around 200-230 AUD is still good considering my expectation is UK AP . . .

If we used to publish in US standard A/A-, it is relatively easy because ERA Australian lists have several A/A* journals. Just look for A ABDC (not A in US R1) list there.
