I heard that PB from UNSW recently got tenure. He joined UNSW in 2014 with a JFE and JFQA. Five years later he has nothing else but got tenure. So what are UNSW's tenure standards? Do you just need to hang around for 5 years?
UNSW tenure

Unlike other Australian schools, UNSW and Melbourne hire juniors on a 5-6 year fixed-term contract. So if people don't deliver they can be moved on. That explains many of the departures at these places.
In Australia most academic positions are permanent (i.e. tenure). They might impose 3 years probation and then "tenured". However, they have a system called "market loading" extra salaries - conditional publications, grants, department money, etc.

This. ANU is doing the same thing now.
