We have interviewed many good candiates these days, and will send our offers soon.
Welcome to Wuhan University

If there’s one job that’s closest to modern slave.ry in Chinese academia, it has to be Wuhan’s “assistant professor” (really it’s just postdoc) position.
At least, they made it clear this year. If you have some pub, you will be "预聘讲师",if you have A- pub, you will be "untenured associate professor", if you have no pub, you will be postdoc in contract but still have AP title, but the promotion is the same as "预聘讲师"
-
No. They’ve been clear about that for years. What they don’t say (and whats arguably much more important) is that you will have to compete in the entire university, against many other APs in STEM, for tenure, which makes it nearly impossible. The job is essentially a 3 year postdoc contract, regardless of how many pubs you have and whatever title they give you.

In the recruiting meeting this year, they said most of the recent promotion pass the Uni approve. And if you reach the department requirement (2A- or 1A1B), it will certainly not fail. I wondered is there any previous cases who reach the department requirement but fail to be promoted?

Also, they said if you have A- pub, you will be recruited as untenured associate professor. Essentially, you only have 6th year evaluation. Not sure it will be implemented as they said .......

yes there were, do not believe entirely what the department said or promised.
