2) mandatory liability insurance
3) annual state registration like a car
4) criminal and civil liability passes to gun owner (eg parents of teen shooters)
5) mandatory transparency of funds flow sources to gun lobbyists and politicians

In no other country does a parent routinely fear their 7y old will be shot at school.
The other problem is that mass shootings are a tiny fraction of gun crime in the US and leftist prosecutors in big cities routinely drop weapons charges as part of plea bargains. Taking guns away from accountants and dentists won’t put a dent in gun violence in the US.
^Only this one is viable. The US population has been well armed for a long time. These school shootings are a relatively recent phenomenon. It’s not the guns, it’s the people, and there’s no feasible way to confiscate 300M firearms anyway.
This is just ridiculous rhetoric. It’s the access to guns that allows “the people” to act out violent fantasies.

Wrong. It would affect change in one form of gun violence. Conflating different forms of gun violence allows the dialogue on substantive change to die. Nice try but it won’t work here. There are clearly different elements of gun violence. They all need different solutions.
