What about Georgetown PhD?

g-town alum here. most years most of your peers will be very sharp. most of the faculty is really talented but most don't value advising at all / could care less if you succeed. if you can get a chair that tries / cares you can do great things and get a great placement - there are typically a few good academic placements a year.
DC is fun in your early and mid 20s, but very expensive and a little too status-driven for my taste.Peers will be sharp? At a rank 50 school?
