    I live in so cal and often rent cars to drive for weekend road trips. I took an Infiniti G35 for a 800 mile drive over 4 days. It's a crap car. Would not recommend to own. Electronic steering is obnoxious, the acceleration is uneven and underwhelming, and the interior quality leaves much to be desired.

    You're better advised to go C-class, 3 series, or A4. Heck, go Cadillac and get an ATS or CTS. Both excellent cars.

    You gotta approach this by deletion and rule out all the cars which a sufficiently well-off prole or douchebag might buy. In my analysis, Volvo remains as the optimal car brand.

    make sure you check the reliability of the car. volvos in US usually have low reliability score, i.e. you need to get it fixed every so often and the parts are not going to be cheap.

    Volvo is actually very good. For example, s60. Prestigious, safe and not obnoxious. Also, Benz c class are great cars. Little bit expensive tho.
