A PhD student at LRM?
What is the average person in ejmr like?

I don't think the E() operator is valid here
But I will note anyway.
It's
20% econ/ finance academics
60% internet trolls who like to argue
15% paid Russian or Chinese trolls
5% misc, including people like Alice trying to manipulate emjr posting for research purposes

The borises and zhangs are doing it for free, or they are just generic trolls who enjoy adding to the disinformation and partisanship.

Yes. Keep in mind that in Russia and China, the unskilled wage is near zero. And they do want to sew the seeds of discontent here.
I don't believe these paid employees are specifically assigned to EMJR. Instead they likely have hundreds (thousands?) of websites or Reddit boards they post on everyday. Most of them are cut and paste BS that takes literally under a second to post. They can probably automate some of it but the human is there to beat the captcha and/or select which cut and paste makes sense for the board.
