Bottom line is, italy to toilet and to junk rating
What is the consensus on Massimo Carminati
-
Well yeah, they are not blowing up train stations or banks anymore. The various mafias are not killing each other by the hundreds every year, but usually this means that business is going very well.
But I've never seen the current level of diffuse lawlessness and sad resignation to a slow decline.

Guys, italian here.
Italy is technically dead. Really little to do. Only jobs are rent-seeker jobs or being a retired. Only a big disaster would change things. Italian problems are italian themselves.
Renzi is better than previous people, but still unlikely he will do anything...The guy was probably half-way a bulls**tter and a true powerful men...a clown as most of people with power in italy

Just a short reminder for non-italians:
-number 2 is Giuliano Poletti, the current Minister of Labour
-nr 1 is Luciano Casamonica, well known roman Mafia boss (here with Alemanno)
-nr 8 is Gianni Alemanno, ex mayor of Rome . he’s considered the puppet of Carminati
-all the others have been arrested for MafiaMany of the people involved in the scandal used to populate Renzi's infamous dinners. Remember that 99% of the people are there just to please some really powerful man.
-
One thing though, Marino is the less charismatic mayor that one could ever imagine, but it is amazing that they were pestering him about where he was parking his "red Panda (car)", with this going on in the background. I am even inclined to give some credit to the conspiracy theory that the campaign was a part of these guys' strategy to attack him, and in any case he has to go around under armed police escort now.
-
Other things many non-Italians do not know:
-Berlusconi’s party, Forza Italia, has been founded with Marcello dell’Utri, who later got 7 years for "Concorso esterno in associazione di tipo mafioso”, i.e. he was a side member of Sicial Mafia
-at the moment there is a trial in Sicily for a negotiation between the Italian Government and the Mafia in the early 90s. For instance, it emerged the judge Paolo Borsellino was killed because he didn’t endorse it.
-some years ago, the infamous host Lorena Bianchetti greeted publicly during a TV program with the boss Gaetano Marino. Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrcEpgCbeWM
-in 2003 two cops,Gaetano Pascale e Piero Fierro, already had all the evidence that have been recently collected against Carminati &co. but inexplicably they have been stopped.
I could come up with at least a hundred more reasons why Italy sucks...

It isn’t a conspiracy theory since they said many times they needed to find a way to eliminate Marino. Guess why? Marino has studied Medicine in Italy then moved to the United States where he worked in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Only in 2006 he came back to Italy without having the opportunity to be an insider in this world in between Crime and Politics. Moreover, as soon as he arrived in Rome as a Mayor he started cutting all these “municipalizzate” who were created by Alemanno just to please his friends. One example is “Atac Patrimonio” (http://www.atacpatrimonio.it), a spin-off of the local Public Transit Company, who was created to manage the buildings of the Society. Just to give you an idea, the CEO of the company was one of these mafio-fascists and was paid more than €500k

Plus, I know quite well Carlo Bonini by Repubblica, who is one of the main experts regarding la Banda della Magliana and in general crime in Rome. He was puzzled because the whole media coverage was very bipartisan, in the sense that there was this alleged symmetry between right and the left politicians. This is probably the most ridiculous claim ever made, since all the criminal involved in the scandal have a clear origin from neo-fascist groups like NAR (Nuclei Armati Rivoluzionari), Forza Nuova etc…
The people from the left who got caught, weren’t affiliate of the organization but just people who were corrupted by them but for whom we can expect only a “concorso esterno”.

What non Italians should understand, is that there has always been a strong link between Italian right wing parties, the mafia, organizations like P2 and secret services. All these parts of the society had in common the desire to annihilate the Communist Party, which at the time was the only defender on legality in Italy. So Italy, paradoxically, may be the only Country in the World which suffered from not having a Communist Party governing.

Being serious for a moment, to defend red terrorists in 2014 is absolutely unacceptable. This case has very little to do with Banda della Magliana, at least so it seems. NAR, terza posizione, etc as well as BR and the rest are long gone fortunately. Trying to politicize this criminal organization is just dumb. I hope you don't have the disgusting attitude of some compagni of which Italy is still full (for example: vauro against storace)

The organization led by Caminati had a clear fascist origin; then we could talk about Fasciani, Senese and Casamonica…
But what has no doubt at all is the fact those people, and in general crime organisations in Rome, are really close to the right and in fact they chose their former camerata, Gianni Alemanno, as a Mayor. Then you talk about BR, where did I mention them? And by the way, I don’t get the link between BR and this event…
But it seems to be deeply rooted inside this bipartisan desire to bring about the evil of the left when others are talking about the right. Let me be clear, red terrorism was s**t, but red terrorism has 0% to do with what happened in Rome, with Roman crime and with Mafia in general...
