This is my life now (2 kids, not 3, sans church) in southern California. 15 minutes from nearest beach. HHI over the last five years averaged around 150K, net worth of 1.5-2.0M (would have to account for recent dip).
Not that one can do anything about it once they're 40, but that misattributed Einstein quotation about compound interest ain't wrong. We could dial it back on saving now and eat out a little more or drive nicer cars or some such, but would it make us much happier? Doubt it...
