David cook is now the acting head. Why would Chen Songnian resign from this post in less than a year if he is not leaving?
Songnian was never the head. It was Albert Park, now on leave at Asian Development Bank and his position was taken by D. Cook. Songnian got a big research fund last year, which according to the term waives his duty in teaching and admin service.
