Regarding Pearl Harbor, what could FDR have done? Preemptive attack on Japan?
As for a true WW 2 conspiracy: US knew by summer 1945 that Japan was asking for peace negotiations via the USSR (with whom it was not yet at war). Stalin did not pass this request on, but US top intelligence knew about it. Nonetheless they still decided to drop 2 nukes on Japan, possibly to demonstrate the weapon’s power to the USSR (to whom they refused to pass on the secrets).
