How long will colleges like Smith exist as a going concern? With the decrease in the US's college age population and declining economic fortunes for its graduates, these types of places surely can't be long for the world.

For example, in August 2018, just days before I was to present a library orientation program into which I had poured a tremendous amount of time and effort, and which had previously been approved by my supervisors, I was told that I could not proceed with the planned program. Because it was going to be done in rap form...
Oh honey. I would've fired you at the mere mention of doing a presentation in rap.

Oh honey. I would've fired you at the mere mention of doing a presentation in rap.Yes that part was admittedly very cringe. But what do you think about the other aspects of the article? Do those of you teaching at LACs see similar trends?

The choice of a white woman to make her professional presentation in rap form is odd. But the job environment clearly wasn’t a good fit. There is nothing wrong with just resigning due to poor fit — don’t need to send a long letter about it.
This is happening across America, and even France has identified it as a threat.

Still, I hope she sues them sil/ly.

Last year made me realize there's no common cause between white and black in America. If we make concessions to black people they'll just keep demanding more, so there's no point in listening to them about anything.
I don't think you should treat the people in these articles as representative of black people in general. My understanding is that the majority of them have quite reasonable political views. They were the driving force behind Bidet winning the primaries, after all.

Right: black people voted for our broken healthcare system, voted for cutting the welfare state, voted for the forever war. I see no political common ground between me and black people.

With all due respect, you don’t sound like a well-balanced, rational person.
Why? Because I don't think black people have some sort of intuitive wisdom about right and wrong? They're a political constituency to which I don't belong, and they happen to be opposed to many of the things that I think would make the country a better place.

Whites didn't vote for these things?

Not in a concerted fashion. Indeed the very people who are for universal healthcare, for expanding the welfare state, for ending the War on Terror are stereotypically white, while black people have united against these causes. White people can be persuaded, not black people because they have their own priorities that have nothing to do with those of white people.

Are you including the Republican party here?

Yeah, I think white Republicans can be persuaded. Some polls show that white Republicans actually support Medicare for all, for example. But black people voted in lockstep to shut down the push for Medicare for all in 2020.

Also, my point was that if you looked at voting percentages for whites and blacks on those issues, you will find that a higher percent of blacks agree with you, so you should flip the races in your rant
