Who is pseudoerasmus?

I suspect it's an economic historian who burned out of the profession, possibly as a grad student but likely at the AP level. There is little professional reward to being broadly read across chronological periods, themes/topics, and countries/regions, which he or she clearly is, but a lot of intrinsic satisfaction in keeping track of the forest instead of the trees.
