Well tough but I only applied to places that interviewed in San Diego.
^ not having an interview at the AEA does not mean you are not still being considered. Some places did not interview at the AEA for one reason or another. E.g. some top 10 schools do not go to the AEA. They invite candidates earlier, and the process continues until the position is filled.

I am by no means racist or against diversity but I am so sick of all this affirmative action crap! In the end, I don't think anybody gets any unfair advantage due to this...yeah you might get more chances to present your stuff and get exposure if you're a minority (Im fine with that) but you won't get a job if you don't deserve it.
What pisses me off though is the fact that I've been on both sides of the fence...I've had to wait my turn at some places where I wasn't considered a minority and they had to fake some interviews before they could bring me over and I've also gotten "chances" at places that needed people like me only to satisfy a requirement. Don't fvcking waste my time! That's all!

Nothing he said was particularly racist in and of itself. I inferred that the poster was racist from the fact that only a racist idiot would think what he wrote was true, or think that it was an amusing troll.

Asian-Americans are the ones getting shafted. These guys are getting discriminated against throughout their childhood and teenage years for being Asian and THEN they get a huge penalty for college and perhaps graduate school admissions. Their only crime seem to be having more responsible parents.
I feel so discriminated against. My ethnic demographic is 2 percent of the population and yet we make up only 20 percent of the students in most top 50 schools.
If only we had been black female then my race would be 100 percent of the top 50 schools.
