If it’s not too difficult for a New Yorker working 80-hour weeks to stay in shape, why is so difficult for Midwesterners working 40-hour weeks to stay below 300 lbs?

The New Yorker has to spend more than half their income on rent, and burn tons of calories trying to survive in NYC, and usually do drugs. The Midwesterner, on the other hand, has tons of time and money, a carefree life, and relies more on alcohol instead. The outcome is obvious.

Rent in Midtown Manhattan is only $80k/yr, while salary + bonus for financiers at large firms are >$1M/yr. Manhattanites enjoy the amenities of the world’s richest city, and tend to be physically fit.
The typical Midwesterner makes <$150k/yr, is addicted to we/ed, alcohol, and opioids, and is obese. Why is he so lazy?

Indeed, I was comparing highly-compensated financiers in Manhattan to the typical Midwesterner. The latter gets off from work at 5pm and watches TV for the rest of the evening, while the former works 80 hour weeks yet is still able to attend their child’s extracurricular activities.

You know why Midwesterners are so fat? The answer is incredibly obvious.
Look at their cuisine, especially how thick & fat their Pizza is (detroit and chicago style).
Now look at how thin NY pizza is.
New York cuisine is much healthier. You hit the user ID jackpot, babe.

I live in a part of Canada that borders on the Midwest.
No fat people on this side, none on the other side either. Everyone is a four season outdoors enthusiast. Hunting, fishing, cycling, camping, you name it, they are doing it.
It's the south that is obese, they drive around the block in mild weather to get a bag of chips.

I live in a midwestern city and in my suburb, I hardly see any f@t people.
Most people spend a lot of time outdoors (lakes), do a lot of yardwork/shovelling etc, and ladies are all gymfreaks.ok, so you live in a yuppie part of Chicago or maybe Madison
No, much more boring city, but i am not lying.
I moved from northeast and was pleasantly surprised. -

no beaches so there's no social pressure to ever take off your clothes
Midwest has 30,000 lakes and more "coastline" than California.
If you lived here, you will know we have a lot of reasons to be shirtless
