   Tenure, hiring and promotion standards have gone down at Michigan. Just look at their decisions in recent years. On average, the people they hired and promoted were not as as good as the people that Michigan lost, so the average faculty quality has declined noticeably.

   Top 20, yes, maybe they went down to top 20. Top 25 is too low

   Sorry guys. At this point, Michigan is top 20-25 at best after many of their best faculty left. Only people at Michigan still think that they are top 15.

    Toronto is good if you can afford to live downtown and send your kids to private school. Not doing that on a UofT salary anymore. 20 years ago you could but not now. Unless you want to live in an apartment, you will be doing a long commute.
